When I saw the movie Rudy for the first time, I, like many other kids, had the dream of one day donning that famous golden helmet and running out of the tunnel at Notre Dame Stadium. Unfortunately, I stopped growing and instead of playing sports decided to do the next-best thing—report on them.
After graduating from Stanton (IA) High School, in a class of 24, I attended the University of Notre Dame. During my time in South Bend, I worked as the Athletics and Managing Editor of The Dome Yearbook, Sports Director of NDtv, and a play-by-play announcer for Irish volleyball, lacrosse, and softball. While working for The Dome, I was lucky enough to travel to New York; Washington, D.C.; Dublin, Ireland; and Miami, Florida to cover the Irish.
I also interned in the sports departments at WNDU in South Bend and WOWT in Omaha. Between my junior and senior years, I was lucky enough to intern with NBC at the Olympics in London. I graduated in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Film, Television, and Theatre.
In my free time you'll more than likely find me watching hockey, baseball, or college football—depending on the time of year—or attempting to play golf.
I'm excited to report on sports for Siouxland. If you have any story ideas, questions, or just would like to chat, please don't hesitate to email or Tweet at me.
