A Rock Valley woman has been sentenced in connection with 1st Degree Theft charges

Heather Bloemendaal was accused of stealing nearly $20,000 in bank deposits

A Rock Valley woman has been sentenced in connection with 1st Degree Theft charges.  In a plea agreement announced by Sioux County Attorney Thomas Kunstle, 38 year old Heather Bloemendaal was sentenced to 10 years suspended prison time, four years probation and is required to reside at Sioux City's Residential Treatment Facility while also paying full restitution.

Bloemendaal was arrested after it was determined she had stolen nearly $20,000 dollars in bank deposits from her employer Stone Soup cafe in Rock Valley.  According to police paperwork, daily bank account some deposits between January 1, 2015 and July 31, 2015 were missing.

First degree theft is a Class C Felony, in Sioux County District Court.
