Sources close to the Trump administration report that Iowa's governor Terry Branstad has accepted the job as U.S Ambassador to China.

Iowa's governor and president-elect Donald Trump had a highly-anticipated meeting Tuesday.

Branstad met Trump at Trump Tower, where the president-elect has been meeting with prospective appointees.

Trump has previously hinted that he'd like Branstad to be the next ambassador to China, given his extensive work with the Chinese over the years.


Donald trump will be holding a thank you rally in Des Moines on Thursday, December 8th.
