Members at the Norm Waitt, Sr. YMCA will be seeing some "climate control" improvements in coming weeks.

A massive crane started removing old heating ventilation and air conditioning units from the roof of the facility Wednesday morning and two new systems should be in place by the end of the week.

Some parking areas had to be closed down to make room for the huge piece of equipment.

Once complete members who frequent the indoor swimming features should notice a difference.

"We take pride in our aquatics area, a lot of people use that," said Director of Communications, Ryan Martinez. "Whether it's for some of our group fitness classes or just individuals that can't do normal exercises, so they use our aquatic area."

The Y's fitness and activity pools along with sauna and whirlpool are temporarily closed during the renovations.
