Nebraska big box stores Walmart, Sams Club and Target are now included in a food recall covering mostly Western states.
The recall now includes about 155,000 items such as salad kits, vegetable trays and other prepared foods.
Contaminated celery from California-based Taylor Farms Pacific was found to be the source of a chicken salad recall last week by Costco.
The Food and Drug Administration expanded the recall of food products on Tuesday.
Health investigators say a handful of cases of E. coli have been linked to the recall that now spans more than a dozen states.
It's the latest food scare that most recently also required recalls at Starbucks and Chipotle. The cases were unrelated.
