A former Sioux City soccer coach was sentenced Tuesday after having an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old student.

Erick DeLeon, former West High Soccer Coach and Director of the iJAG program at North High School, was issued a five year suspended jail sentence along with a three year probationary period to follow.

DeLeon was arrested in January after being accused of performing sexual acts with a 16-year-old student. He plead guilty to Sexual Exploitation by a School Employee earlier in the year.
