Sioux City is bound with fast food joints, but how about one that is healthy for you? Or caters to vegetarians, those who are gluten-intolerant, and meat-eaters all in one place?
Eat Fit Go is the first of its kind here in Sioux City and is giving the community some healthy options for on-the-go eating.
"Everyone is looking for a healthy way to eat that's convenient, that's fast, you don't have to grocery shop, you don't have to cook, you pop it in the microwave, warm it up and it's ready to eat," says Thomas Uhlir, owner of Eat Fit Go.
Eat Fit Go is located on the 4500 block of Southern Hills Drive here in Sioux City. Their franchise can also be found in Omaha, Norfolk, Sioux Falls, and Kansas City.
Just in the Sioux City location, there are 900 meals prepared. Each meal is good for six days and has the expiration date written on each serving. They offer a variety of options to choose from including Fajita bowls, steak and potatoes, salads, and even kids meals.
"So far I like the chicken. It's chicken, broccoli and sweet potatoes," says Gabrielle Salinas, Eat Fit Go employee.
"I like the breakfast, the All-American. Red potato, egg whites, diced up apple chicken sausage because I like the sausage," says Blaike Coca, Eat Fit Go employee.
Customers who stopped in on their grand-opening day say it's well worth it.
"It's very good so far. Very good, very tasty, Good portions. A little hot right now because it just came out of the microwave, but overall, I'm impressed so far," says Blayne Barrs, customer at Eat Fit Go.
