ABC9 caught up with some Siouxlanders again on the RAGBRAI route Friday. A woman from Pocahontas sure knows how to cool riders off.

Beekman Ice Cream was set up out along the route, right by a corn field. It's a family operation, and they make all the ice cream from scratch.

They've been doing this for 28 years during RAGBRAI.

Engines churn 240 gallons of ice cream a day using 2400 pounds of ice and 320 pounds of salt.

"I asked these guys do you make your own mix is this really homemade and she said I'll show you.  She pulled out this zip lock bag of what they use for the ice cream and I said it's good enough for me," said Terry Braun of Iowa City.

Michelle Beekman added, "We have a map on the trailer and it says here's where you are and where we'll be tomorrow.  We have a Facebook page and people message me there.  I've emailed the list out to several people."

In case you're curious, vanilla, chocolate, raspberry and peach were on the menu.
