A 50-year-old Sioux City man who was arrested last month for exposing himself to several women in a Sioux City Walmart is facing new charges after authorities say he exposed himself to several people on a bus before that incident.
According to court documents, Douglas Coney boarded a Sioux City bus on August 2nd around 5:00 p.m. with his pants undone. Witnesses say that on his way to his seat his pants got caught on one of the passenger's stroller and fell down and exposed his groin area.
Authorities say that during the roughly 30-minutes he was on the bus he exposed himself to the passengers on the bus several times. One of the passengers had a two-year-old girl with them on the bus and told authorities that the child would cry when she looked at Coney.
When the bus arrived at the MLK transportation center, the witnesses told the bus driver what they had seen and Coney was kicked off the bus. Police say that he then proceeded to the Walmart on Floyd Boulevard in Sioux City where he was later arrested after exposing himself to several women while riding around on an electric scooter. Authorities say that incident occurred around 5:37 p.m.
Coney is currently facing two counts of Indecent Exposure in connection to the incidents on August 2nd. He's being held in the Woodbury County Jail on a $5,000 bond. His next court date for the bus incident is scheduled for October 6th. There is currently a pre-trial conference scheduled for November 18th for the incident at Walmart.
Indecent Exposure is a Serious Misdemeanor in the state of Iowa punishable by up to two years in jail.
