Many Siouxlanders are trying to beat the snow by staying ahead of the predicted winter storm that's headed our way.

"Well I've got my snow blower all fired up from the first snow storm and now I'm here to get a new shovel," said Robert Wignes, a Bomgaars customer.
With a snow storm that is supposed to hit Siouxland in the early hours on Monday morning and lasting until Tuesday, many residents are out shopping to prepare for the several inches of snow that 'Old Man Winter' is supposed to bring. Most Siouxland residents could see six inches or more. Bomgaars and Hy-Vee are just two stores that we visited who had lines of customers trying to stay ahead of the curve.
"I'm ready, I think I just have to get some ice melt too, other than that I'm good," said Wignes.
"I think we're preparing because we're supposed to get like 12 inches of snow i heard," said Gavin Macklem, a Hy-Vee customer.
"We'll probably miss school and stuff so we don't want to be in the house without stuff," said Emily Winkler, also a Hy-Vee customer.
Bomgaars store manager Joe Boyle was able to share a few tips with me that he also tells his customers, just in case you get stuck in a winter storm.
Water, snack, ice scrapers and blankets are things to consider when packing your car.
Hy-Vee's customers saw a shortage of certain produce due to the high number of people stocking up on food.
"There's hardly any milk and bread left," said Hy-Vee customer Kim Walish.
