A substitute teacher for the Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto Community High School has been charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor by a school employee.
The initial investigation into the alleged exploitation of the two students began in May 2016 with the Ida Grove Sheriff's Office along other agencies directly connecting John Tietsort of rural Battle Creek, Iowa, to the two victims.
Tietsort was a long-time substitute teacher for both MVAO and Battle Creek-Ida Grove and had been teaching there since 2013. The investigation revealed he had repeated sexual contact with both a student from Maple Valley and Ida Grove during the spring of this year.
He was arrested on August 23 and released on a $5,000 cash bond the same day. His next court date is set for September 1.
