The phrase "Next Man In" is a common one around football locker rooms usually referring to the players in the room. But when the Iowa State football team meets later today, new head coach Matt Campbell will represent the next man. Iowa State University held a news conference Monday to introduce Campbell who most recently was head coach at Toledo.
Athletic Director Jamie Pollard said "We found our man."
Campbell said, "It's all about people, it had to be the right fit for myself and my family." Campbell turned 35 on Sunday. He compiled a 35-15 record as the head coach at Toledo and led the Rockets to three nine-win seasons.
Paul Rhoads was fired before the Cyclones played their final game of the season Saturday at West Virgina.
