Authorities have released the video from a pursuit earlier this week where a Woodbury County Deputy was nearly struck by a stolen truck

According to court documents, Woodbury County Sheriff's Deputy Dustin Degroot was finishing a traffic stop just outside of Sloan when a vehicle came within 2 feet of hitting him. Degroot claims he had to physically move to avoid being struck by the vehicle.

Degroot quickly returned to his vehicle and attempted to stop the car. The Deputy pursued the vehicle at speeds in excess of 95mph southbound on I-29. Authorities say the suspect, Don Duclos, eventually took the Whiting exit and eventually crashed the vehicle near the intersection of K-42 and Berry Avenue.

Deputies were able to determine that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Dunlap, IA on Monday evening. Duclos also had several warrants out of Polk, Warren, and Pottawattamie counties in Iowa.

Duclos is currently charged with Felony Eluding, Assault on a Peace Officer, and Operating Without Owner's Consent. He's being held in the Woodbury County Jail on a $25,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for September 2nd at 9:00 A.M.
