An update to a recent report concerning Highway 20 road construction detour. It seems that folks in the tiny Ida County town of Galva will not be seeing visitors from a road work detour during the winter season.
The Iowa Department of Transportation says that weather permitting the detour between Galva and Early will end Friday at noon.
Traffic will again flow on highway 20 through the winter. The detour is slated to be reactivated next spring.
IDOT is in the final stages of the $375-million project to widen the remaining 40 miles of highway between Moville and Early.
