For this year's Hinton squad, it's all about recording that elusive quarterfinal win.
"I'm just hoping to make it past the first game because we haven't made it past the first game so that's all I am worried about right now," said Hinton senior Skyler Beller. "I'm not worried about second game, championship game, I just want to get past that first game."
"Last year, we left too many people stranded on base," said Hinton senior Terrill Henrich. "In the first inning, we left runners on second and third with one out and it went strikeout strikeout, we cant do that to win games, we have to hit the ball, throw the ball, field the ball that's all we gotta do."
"It's very important to get that first win," said Hinton head coach Cale Kramer. "The guys know that. They kind of talked about it themselves. It's more of a business trip. First year, it was really exciting, it was fun and then you lose and you are kinda heartbroken. Last year, little bit more focus we thought and it just didn't turn out our way. This year they are really focused."
Hinton's quarterfinal matchup is set for Monday at 1:30.
