Kavan breaks Morningside's touchdown record

A first quarter rushing touchdown gives Kavan the record formely held by Wegher

After tying the career touchdown record in the first quarter, running back Tyler Kavan broke the record in the same quarter with a five-yard rushing scores, which was one of many touchdowns in the No.4 Mustangs 70-0 victory over Briar Cliff Saturday afternoon at Olsen Stadium.

Kavan finished the day with 112 yards and four touchdowns on 13 carries. Quarterback Trent Solsma threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns on 17 of 25 throwing. His best target was wide receiver Jason Vander Kooi, who hauled in six catches for 97 yards and a score. 

Briar Cliff's leading rusher was Colby Bradshaw, who gained 38 yards on 14 attempts. The Chargers only threw the ball three times with no completions. 

The Mustangs travel to Dakota Wesleyan, while the Chargers host Hastings College.
