AMES, Iowa (ABC9 Sports)--Allen Lazard turned college football heads when he signed with Iowa State. With the freshman's first practice in the books, the Cyclones have to temper some expectations.

"We know there's going to be a lot of focus on Allen," said Head Coach Paul Rhoads. "As there should be, that highly recruited and that talented of a young man out of our own state."

But Lazard adds that any pressure he feels, isn't from the outside, but rather himself.

"I don't really care what everyone else says about me and stuff," said Lazard. "I've got my own personal goals and my team goals and I've got to live up to those."

With four weeks to prepare for the season-opener, Cyclone fans are hoping for fireworks from the Urbandale product.
