IOWA CITY, Iowa (ABC9 Sports)--Injuries have been an issue for Iowa running backs over the past several seasons. But, with four talented returners in the backfield this year, the Hawkeyes should be ready to run to a big year.

"Two years ago we weren't sure we had one running back," said Head Coach Kirk Ferentz, "so it's a big change that way. And the nice thing is hopefully we can be really intelligent about how we use the players keep them fresh then to where they can go full speed and also accentuate what their skill sets are."

While Mark Weisman is the big name in the backfield, he'll be joined by LeShun Daniels, Damon Bullock, and Jordan Canzeri.

"The more good running backs you have the better a team is going to be definitely keep each other healthy out there," said Weisman.

With the first game on August 30, fans will get their first sight at who the workhorse of the group will be, but the players don't care who gets the most carries.

"We are all good guys," said Daniels. "We can all make plays. We are not selfish and whatever Coach White ends up deciding were perfectly happy with."
