An Iowa native, I grew up watching Iowa's weather. Born and raised in Dubuque, I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Communication/Electronic Media. My first job after school was with CBS in New York, where I worked with The Late Show with David Letterman, 60 Minutes, and CBS Evening News with Dan Rather. Following that, I worked as a television talent booker, booking guests on various types of TV shows for Central Talent Booking in New York.

After a few years of working in television, I finally decided to combine my interests in weather and broadcasting and earned a graduate degree in Geosciences/Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. Then I headed north to Austin, Minnesota for my first on-air job as a meteorologist at KAAL-TV. That’s where I met my wife, Shelley, who was an anchor and reporter at the same station.

In July 2008, I joined the ABC9 News team. I enjoy being back working in my home state. I'm also enjoying being a dad to our son, Alex, and daughter, Madeline. Aside from my interests in television and weather, I like to explore new places and attractions with my family. I am also a life-long car nut. Old cars, new cars, I like them all, but I have a special place in my heart for antique Volkswagens since my first car was a 1967 Beetle.

You can count on me for an accurate, easy-to-understand forecast, and I am committed to keeping you informed during severe weather.
