I'm a lifelong Siouxland girl and it's my honor to help bring you the news of the day. I've been the co-anchor of ABC9 News at 5, 6, and 10 for eight years now and feel I've "grown up" on Siouxland TV.
I was born and raised in Hartington, Nebraska where I graduated from Hartington Public High School. My love for journalism began at Morningside College where I received my bachelor's degree in mass communications in 2006.
The news is all about story-telling and I love sharing meaningful stories about the people and families in our area. For many years, I've reported for and produced ABC9's "Focus for the Cure" series focused on breast cancer awareness and issues. Beginning this February, that series will be expanded to a weekly segment - Wednesdays at 10pm - called "Your Health Matters" with the hopes of shining a spotlight on many different health-related topics that affect Siouxland families. I'd love to hear your ideas for the series; feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org .
While I'm passionate about my career, my favorite job title is "Mom." My husband, Chris Liberto, and I have two children, a boy and a girl. We love taking in weekend activities with them and spending time with our extended families.
I'm also active in my church and community events, including the Crittenton Center's Design & Dine fundraiser and I'm excited to be serving as chair of the 2015 Mercy Women's Night Out. You can follow what’s going on with me personally by visiting my blog: http://www.siouxlandmatters.com/jennablog
