Sioux City, IA (ABC9 News) Students and staff at Briar Cliff University are getting things started in a healthy, new way.
Another Blue Zones Worksite has officially been named.
BCU became the Sioux City's 18th worksite to earn a Blue Zones designation.
The university is taking on new policies and benefits for all of its employees, adding this designation will greatly impact student life, as well.
"We're very proud of that accomplishment. Our leadership is very proud, it's something that we already subscribe to the well being of our employees, so it was naturally fit for us,” says JoAnn Peterson, BCU Human Resources Director.
It is not too late to jump on the blue bandwagon.
So far, 8,400 people have taken the pledge.
Representatives are hoping to get 13,000 more to do so by March of next year.
