On the cool side today, many highs in the upper 70's and lower 80's. Expect temperatures to be similar tomorrow!
Tonight, clouds linger as an upper level low makes it way around Siouxland just to our west. We'll stay dry, but the clouds will get pushed into the area. Lows will be on the cooler side, in the upper 50's and lower 60's.
Friday, stubborn clouds stick around and temperatures stay a touch cooler in the upper 70's and lower 80's... nearly a carbon copy of today!
Saturday we get closer to normal as far as highs go...mid 80's with partly cloudy skies, and Sunday we start to crank up the heat.
Now, storm chances through the weekend period are spotty. I left the forecast dry because there wasn't much evidence (instability and upper level energy) pointing towards storm development. BUT, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a small pop-up shower. The chances of that and the impact are so low, that I opted to keep the forecast dry.
By Sunday, a ridge, or bulge in the jet stream, starts to build again...cranking up the heat and humidity. Upper 80's on Sunday with partly cloudy skies, but by Monday... abundant sunshine will crank temperatures into the lower 90's. Highs will get into the mid 90's on Tuesday and with increasing humidity, real feels could crack the triple digits again.
Temperatures start the downhill slide by Thursday.
